WHICH SEA SO SALTY

PHASE 1: TO SAMPLING. Albert, the "Great", now is not "Miranda" but he is working. Notice how skillfully gets the tap to get the precious salty liquid of the ocean containing in the gray bottle. Now that's a good bottle (20 liters no less).

PHASE 2: TO WAIT. These are the samples for salinity, but are not yet ready to be analyzed. They must be 24 hours in the laboratory under controlled temperature before being "sucked". Look at the closures, are like small "bottles" of soda, but between all do a great "bottle".

PHASE 3: SUCKING!. Gabi analyzing salinity is that man is very salty!

Tucked away in galleys all day, the poor man, so he has not appeared until now in the blog

Yet he is embarked, is confirmed.

PHASE 4: TO CHECK. Salinometer data are compared with those of the blue graph, which is the salinity marks the CTD conductivity sensor (in the jargon the queteden) and allow calibration, because sometimes leaves the mother (not many hey!). The red graph is the temperature, the green the fluorescence, and yellow the dissolved oxygen, but of all this we will talk another day, not harass.

Notice that in terms of depth, surface area of North Atlantic is more saline  and in the bottom is less saline, but from the surface to the bottom there are areas where it reaches maximum and minimum, these areas are very interesting to study because they mark the waters coming from different zones of the worlds far away (Antarctica, Arctic ...) and you can know their origin precisely by salinity, or so I think it was what he taught me Fiz ...

Well, more tomorrow!
